Newsletter June 2011

"Dear Readers, Shalom!

From June 15 to July 15, the Library will run a nationwide campaign to raise funds, marking national Book Week. The goals are twofold:

1. To increase public awareness through exposure, which will lead to a greater number of subscribers, friends and interested parties.
2. To solicit funds which will enable us to broaden the Library’s activities.

What’s going to happen?

Between June 15 and July 15 there will be a media campaign that will involve television, cinema, the press, radio, internet and other channels, taking advantage of the free community service dedicated to non-profit organizations.
The campaign will include a range of advertizing material which Publicis Geller – Nessis, one of Israel’s leading advertizing companies, has volunteered to create for us, and PR activities led by the public relations offices of Ofir Spiegel. Author, Amos Oz will lead the advertizing campaign.
• In parallel with the media campaign, we will run field activities in three malls across the country. Within this framework we will set up totally darkened tents that visitors can enter and walk around while listening to recorded excerpts from well-known books. Additionally we will run instructive activities that will include Braille activities, explanations about the books and the book-production process, and more. The activities will be open to the general public and target all age groups. They will take place between 10:00 and 22:00 in a number of shopping malls belonging to the Kenyonei Israel group:

15 – 25 June – HaKenyon Hagadol (the Big Mall) in Petah Tikva
15 – 20 June – Kenyon Hasharon (the Hasharon Mall) in Netanya
21 – 25 June – Kenyon Lev Ashdod (the Lev Ashdod Mall) in Ashdod

Donations to the campaign will be made by sending an SMS to the number granted free of charge by Cellact and all the cellular phone operators.

To donate 10 shekels, send an SMS with the number 10 to the number 9555.

I invite all of us to take an active part in the campaign, and to recruit our families and friends to help us attain this important goal!

Best wishes and good luck to us all,
Yoav Hepher and the Library Staff"
