Training for employment, enrichment for the soul and a springboard to success

The Library helps blind and visually impaired creators to break into the world of art and culture and we invite them to participate in various accessible cultural training programs, whether for the purpose of acquiring a profession and integrating into the workforce or for personal professional development.

We constantly strive to rehabilitate blind and visually impaired people through enrichment of the spirit and soul, by making culture accessible and by making professional knowledge accessible in various cultural fields in order to increase employment opportunities.

An example of the Library’s training programs is the training course for blind and visually impaired sound technicians, that was conducted in cooperation with the Kiryat Ono Academic College Music School. On completion of the course the students receive a professional certificate, and those who excel join the Library’s recording department.

In another professional training development program, the Library collaborates with the Writing School ‘Home Workshops’ of the of author Eshkol Nevo and poet Orit Gidali, and conducts accessible creative-writing workshops for blind and visually impaired people – something that has not been done before in Israel.
